ROMANTIC WEDDING AT THE ANCIENT SPANISH MONASTERY

Featured on Carats & Cake, Kelly and Jon’s romantic Miami wedding took place in one of the most unique venues in the world, the Ancient Spanish Monastery. Built in the 12th century in Spain but dismantled in the 20th century, the monastery was shipped to the United States and eventually reassembled in North Miami Beach in the 1960s.

As guests arrived they were welcomed for pre-ceremony cocktails in the venue’s perfectly landscaped gardens surrounded by 20 acres of rare palms, Spanish Oaks, Cycads, Banyans, and flowering trees. The monastery’s 12th century Romanesque and Gothic buildings

provided a picturesque backdrop.

The monastery’s Main Chapel was decorated with elegant pastel bouquets offset by cascades of beautifully arranged greenery. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails and an open bar on the lawn in the shade of a statuesque Banyan tree, followed by a seated dinner in the historic cloisters and dancing in the courtyard.

Organized and planned by Pilar Pava Events and Catered by Thierry Isambert.
